FRP Lining Enquiry

FiberGlass Reinforced Plastic

FRP (Fiber Glass Reinforced Plastic) Lining has a very wide application to protect the surface from the erosion / corrosion due to chemical atmosphere or directly because of the chemicals handled there out.

FRP Lining is basically a hand lapping process where Glass Fiber used with different type of resins as per the chemical compositions and type of exposure. The basic advantages of FRP Lining the application are very simple along with the surface preparation required before the application. It does not required the tedious process of sand blasting as in other linings required. And we can select the resin as per the job applications and the cost also varies accordingly

A few typical applications:

D.M. Plant

water storage tank

 DM (Demineralised) Water Storage tank.

Water storage tank

Outside protective lining on Acid / Alkali storage tank from the fumes generated by Acid.

inner surface of storage tank

Protective coating on the MS structure, handrails, plateform in the DM plant / or any other area where the acidic fumes are generated.

C layer

Protect the inner surfaces of the reactor vessels/storage tank.

Terminology and its implications for FRP Lining

resin rich top layer C Layer

It's also called as surface mat. C Layer used to provide a top with resin rich coat/surface, which in turn gives stability to composite/lining stability against abrasion, chemical resistance, environment and mechanical damages.

This layer should be applied just after the final coat/layer of CSM before the resin gets dried.

resin rich top layer Resin Rich Top Layer

It's applied to provide the extra stability to the top exposed surface of FRP Lining against corrosion attack, abrasion, mechanical stability and provide smoothness on the top exposed surface.

u.v.stablized layer U.V. Stabilized Top Layer

If the FRP Lining is exposed directly to Sun, then we advise to go to TOP Layer with UV Stabilized Resin to enhance the life of the FRP Lining.

Advantages of FRP Lining:

resin rich top layer Corrosion Resistance

resin rich top layer Corrosion Resistance

u.v.stablized layer Light Weight

u.v.stablized layer High Dielectric Strength

u.v.stablized layer Low Installed Cost

u.v.stablized layer Aesthetic Appearance

u.v.stablized layer Long term durability
